We all have events, things and people we would like to remember for all the right reaons. In as much as we all believe we have fantastic memories, little by little, they all fade away leaving us with a wisp of all that was which can be a crying shame because they should have been preserved for ever!
Just before Christmas, my younger son’s school held a Christmas Fair and we were told to give our children some money so they could get either food or a token for themselves. There was an upper limit to how much they could bring and it wasn’t much. So, imagine my surprise when I picked him up after school and he presented me with a gift; he had bought me something with the money I had given me and nothing could have touched my heart more. I struggled to keep back the tears because nothing could have prepared me for it. Here it is…
Each time I look at that heart or indeed, the picture I have of it, I can always be transported to that moment in time and re-feel exactly how I felt, loved.
That is how I see what I do, my passion for photography, helping everyone reliving that instant, moment, preserving that memory with a huge smile on their faces. Remembering where we were, how we felt, the circumstance surrounding the moment and being supremely happy with the image in our hands or on our various devices. It was truly worth it.
In my books, all are photographs are memories that should be well documented, done right and preserved. You should look at them and smile…. It was truly worth it.
